Shake that Bird
June 28 – July 26, 2013
Artist Talk: Friday, July 12th at 5pm. Free and open to the public.
The Coleman Burke Gallery announces a solo exhibition by Emilie Blum. Blum is an artist from the Boston area living and working in Maine. She writes, designs, directs and performs in her videos. Blum transforms ordinary objects and activities into whimsical playgrounds. Her videos are often surreal as they attempt to free the subconscious from societal constraints. She is interested in dreams and how they reveal our secret fears and desires. She creates pieces in which characters possess and exorcise demons. Her work is rooted in theater, performance, sculpture and now, VIDEO. She will be projecting her videos in the gallery for this month long exhibition.
Gallery Hours: Tue – Sat, 11am - 5pm, and by appointment
